Weird Sister Wrist Band Pattern

Alright so here is an attempt at my first pattern. This was inspired by the fictional rock band The Weird Sisters in the Harry Potter series.

Materials:
Worsted Weight Yarn in Purple and Aqua (or whatever colours you'd like)
US 7 (4.5 mm) knitting needles

MC = Main Colour
CC = Contrasting Colour

 Instructions:
Cast on 36 stitches. (For a small size Cast on 34 or 32)
Work 3 rows in k2, p2 (MC)
Purl one row (MC)
Knit 6 stitches (5, 4) in MC, 24 stitches off the chart (MC and CC), and finish by knitting 6 (5, 4) stitches (MC).
Work the border stitches and the chart in stockinette stitches for 10 rows. (MC and CC)
Knit one row (MC)
Work 3 rows in k2, p2
Cast off
Sew up the seam

Also if you end up making it to big... like I did (this pattern was written smaller intentionally) you can do some extra decorating and embroidery to make it look more funky and like a rock star. It covers up having to fold over the wristband to make it tighter.

It's a new Year

Alright, so it's been two months since my last entry... no followers yet, so it's not like anyone has been waiting with baited breath yet lol! It's alright, I'm being super lazy of course, but I'll eventually try to get pictures and stuff up eventually. I suppose being a better blogger should be added to my New Year's resolutions. That and losing weight.

It was a pretty good Christmas for knitting I have to say. Both for receiving and giving. I for two knitting magazines, a mini knitting tool kit from my sister, and some new yarn! I had hoped for more knitting books to start my collection, but I'll take what I can get. Also, two Michael's gift cards to go towards my yarn fund! I did not get the job, but it's a new year, and maybe I'll try just going in instead of waiting for the website.

So let's look at the lists of projects I got completed:
Angry Bird's Pig King
Lace Slippers for Erin
Nanny's Bag (FINALLY)
Yellow Angry Bird
Tardis Socks
Sneaker Slippers for Katilyn
Christmas Wreath
Tardis for the Christmas Tree

So yeah, I got a lot done! Awesome right?

What do I have in progress:
DR. WATSON SCARF FROM THE SHERLOCK HOLMES MOVIE, AWESOME!
The Snowman family from Mary Maxim

What I have planned for the future
The Plush Dalek (Technically it's started... but I have a feeling I'm going to take it out, again)
Socks for Dad
Possibly a bag for Mom
Alistair Wizard (His body is started!)
Elizabeth Witch for Mom (Mom thinks she wants to make it herself)
Remaking the Pirate Doll Pattern into a Musketeer
Princess Doll for Katilyn (for her birthday!)
Teaset for Katilyn (next Christmas!)

I also think for my new year's resolution, I should compile my Christmas knitting list earlier, so I can get it done. I had to stay up till 4 the night before the gift exchange to finish Justine's Tardis socks. Do not want to go through that again! And if I am going to be tackling such a big project for Katilyn's Christmas gift... it's a lot of tiny pieces, then I DO need to start that early.

My nanny also got my a book about Knitter's stories that I've got to read. It almost makes me want to write my own novel around knitting. I love to write, and I've been itching to find the right topic to write a novel on. But clearly from this blog, you can tell my patience for it comes in short spurts. You'd imagine I'm probably a better short story writer, than a novelist. Anyways, that it is all for now. I'm hoping to have Watson's scarf finished soon so I can start wearing it!
