Slowest Blogger of life

You know, it's probably a good thing I don't have many followers, because well... there is no one to disappoint. But no one to write for either, except myself, but that is okay!

Mostly since I have ravelry, there isn't much point for me to update all of my knitting projects so... if you are reading this go look there!

I am currently in the process of finishing another Doll (I have made.... four now!) Two Witches, a Pirate and  a Wizard. Not necessarily in that order. Working on a Princess now for my bb niece Katilyn! So cuuuute! I also have to make another Witch for my Aunt Elaine, which is really a posthumous gift for my Grandmother. Yeah, really awkward, haven't started working on it yet. Don't have to worry about it till October at least.

I'm also still working on the Weird Sister bag... it's all knitted. Just needs to be sew up and have a lining. Really, mother, need the sewing machine. Oh well

Also working on these adorable Nursery Toy Chickens... which I did not think they were adorable at first, but they are growing on me. I've made one so far, and the second one has a body (Like Justine haha, private joke that no one will get...), so it shouldn't take long to finish the embellishments. I don't think I'll wait till the baby is born to give them to Natalie. I'll bring them over when I eventually bring that book shelf over which.... I have procrastinated from doing. Really lame of me.

Oh well! It's actually getting hot here. Good thing, yay summer! My knitting habits actually take a pause in the summer, except like when I did a marathon to finish Katilyn's baby blanket or when I finished the Pirate. No big family vacations planned this year though, so I should be fine (unlike last year). But I am going to be working (Yay!!) so we'll just have to see what I have time for. I don't know how it would look if I bring knitting to work on while teaching a math class. So yeah, that won't happen.

So, signing off for now till... I don't know when?

TTFN!

Weird Sister Wrist Band Pattern

Alright so here is an attempt at my first pattern. This was inspired by the fictional rock band The Weird Sisters in the Harry Potter series.

Materials:
Worsted Weight Yarn in Purple and Aqua (or whatever colours you'd like)
US 7 (4.5 mm) knitting needles

MC = Main Colour
CC = Contrasting Colour

 Instructions:
Cast on 36 stitches. (For a small size Cast on 34 or 32)
Work 3 rows in k2, p2 (MC)
Purl one row (MC)
Knit 6 stitches (5, 4) in MC, 24 stitches off the chart (MC and CC), and finish by knitting 6 (5, 4) stitches (MC).
Work the border stitches and the chart in stockinette stitches for 10 rows. (MC and CC)
Knit one row (MC)
Work 3 rows in k2, p2
Cast off
Sew up the seam

Also if you end up making it to big... like I did (this pattern was written smaller intentionally) you can do some extra decorating and embroidery to make it look more funky and like a rock star. It covers up having to fold over the wristband to make it tighter.

It's a new Year

Alright, so it's been two months since my last entry... no followers yet, so it's not like anyone has been waiting with baited breath yet lol! It's alright, I'm being super lazy of course, but I'll eventually try to get pictures and stuff up eventually. I suppose being a better blogger should be added to my New Year's resolutions. That and losing weight.

It was a pretty good Christmas for knitting I have to say. Both for receiving and giving. I for two knitting magazines, a mini knitting tool kit from my sister, and some new yarn! I had hoped for more knitting books to start my collection, but I'll take what I can get. Also, two Michael's gift cards to go towards my yarn fund! I did not get the job, but it's a new year, and maybe I'll try just going in instead of waiting for the website.

So let's look at the lists of projects I got completed:
Angry Bird's Pig King
Lace Slippers for Erin
Nanny's Bag (FINALLY)
Yellow Angry Bird
Tardis Socks
Sneaker Slippers for Katilyn
Christmas Wreath
Tardis for the Christmas Tree

So yeah, I got a lot done! Awesome right?

What do I have in progress:
DR. WATSON SCARF FROM THE SHERLOCK HOLMES MOVIE, AWESOME!
The Snowman family from Mary Maxim

What I have planned for the future
The Plush Dalek (Technically it's started... but I have a feeling I'm going to take it out, again)
Socks for Dad
Possibly a bag for Mom
Alistair Wizard (His body is started!)
Elizabeth Witch for Mom (Mom thinks she wants to make it herself)
Remaking the Pirate Doll Pattern into a Musketeer
Princess Doll for Katilyn (for her birthday!)
Teaset for Katilyn (next Christmas!)

I also think for my new year's resolution, I should compile my Christmas knitting list earlier, so I can get it done. I had to stay up till 4 the night before the gift exchange to finish Justine's Tardis socks. Do not want to go through that again! And if I am going to be tackling such a big project for Katilyn's Christmas gift... it's a lot of tiny pieces, then I DO need to start that early.

My nanny also got my a book about Knitter's stories that I've got to read. It almost makes me want to write my own novel around knitting. I love to write, and I've been itching to find the right topic to write a novel on. But clearly from this blog, you can tell my patience for it comes in short spurts. You'd imagine I'm probably a better short story writer, than a novelist. Anyways, that it is all for now. I'm hoping to have Watson's scarf finished soon so I can start wearing it!

Moving Right Along

So it's almost a month later after my first post. I think that proves how I am not quite the addicted blogger yet! But I figured it was time to write another update, at least so I can get my knitting projects straight.

Completed:
Erin's Halloween Witch
Makin' Bacon Scarf
Natalie's Mitts

In Progress:
Angry Bird's Pig King
Lace Slippers for Erin
Nanny's Bag

So a lot of that has been updated. My future projects are now:
Christmas Chain Link Scarf (need to make the pattern)
Yellow Angry Bird
Tardis Socks
More Mitts, at least two pairs
Socks for Dad
Possibly slippers or socks for Mom
Alistair Wizard
Elizabeth Witch for Mom
Remaking the Pirate Doll Pattern into a Musketeer

Also, I applied for a job at Michaels! If I actually can get it, that will give me a 25% discount on Yarn. So maybe I could actually start making stuff to sell at flea markets or something.

The start of something new

Alright, this post is going to serve as my starting point, and also a list of everything I'm working on now, everything I have completed recently, and everything I'm planning on making in the near future.

Completed:
Patrick Samuel the Pirate
The All-Day Beret
The Three Little Pigs Finger Puppets
Red Angry Bird

In Progress:
Erin's Halloween Witch
Nanny's Bag

Future:
Christmas Chain Link Scarf (need to make the pattern)
Green Pig from Angry Birds
Yellow Angry Bird (pattern not available yet)
Tardis Socks (Still not sure if I can get the yarn?) or Sonic Screwdriver
Some cool scarf I haven't found for H
Alistair Wizard

The future list is mostly my friend's Christmas gifts. I don't even know if I am making anything for my family for Christmas. I'll just have to see.

Anyways, this was really good to be able to post an update in a blog again. I actually got to work three days this week, and one tomorrow, so this is proving to be a good way to unwind. I know no one is reading this, but this is more for me anyway!
